The journey through Africa
The journey to the African World Heritage Sites will mark a concerted effort towards improving knowledge and understanding of the African World Heritage Sites by means of a comprehensive Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) campaign on the African World Heritage Sites.
The African Sites on the World Heritage List are exceptional natural and cultural properties, that have been declared by UNESCO as places on earth that are of outstanding universal value to humanity and meet at least one of ten selection criteria.
There is a need in Africa and the rest of the world to understand the significance and value of the African World Heritage Sites to ensure that African sites are safeguarded and properly managed. Sites that are inscribed on the World Heritage List should be protected for the benefit of present and future generations.
